AS2 file transfer software for your trading partners

SFTPPlus MFT sends and receives AS2 files, automates delivery, and verifies Message Disposition Notification (MDN) receipts from your trading partners. AS2 client and server pricing ​

Choose a perpetual licence for the direction in which you exchange business files. There are no per-partner or per-message licence fees.

These product prices exclude taxes and technical support. The combined price is the sum of the Client and Server licences. Choose the workflow you need ​

Send files from a local folder to an AS2 partner. SFTPPlus MFT monitors the folder, signs and encrypts each message according to the partner profile, sends it, and checks the returned MDN. This uses the Client licence.

Receive files from an AS2 partner into a local folder. The AS2 server receives the message, verifies its signature, decrypts it, stores the file, and returns the requested receipt. This uses the Server licence.

Accept SFTP uploads and forward them over AS2. Your users upload with their existing SFTP clients. SFTPPlus MFT accepts those connections as a server and sends the uploaded files as an AS2 client, so this workflow uses both licences. See the SFTP-to-AS2 gateway example.

An asynchronous MDN is a receipt delivered over a separate connection, rather than a business file sent in the reverse direction. Include your receipt mode and callback endpoint in the quote discussion so we can confirm the configuration and licence requirements for the complete workflow.

Tested AS2 interoperability ​

SFTPPlus 5.7 completed the Drummond AS2-4Q24 interoperability event. The Drummond final report identifies the participating products and tested profiles. Certification records the results for that version and event; test your own partner configuration during evaluation.

SFTPPlus MFT supports message encryption, digital signatures, compression, and synchronous or asynchronous MDNs. Transfers can use HTTPS or HTTP, with optional HTTP authentication and mutual TLS authentication. Audit events record file details, security settings, certificates, and receipt results.

Test your first partner connection ​

Use the supported trial to evaluate the complete path from your source application to the trading partner. Our team can help you check the partner profile and investigate transfer or receipt failures.

1. Agree on the local and remote AS2 identifiers, endpoint URLs, signing and encryption certificates, algorithms, and MDN mode with your partner. Exchange public certificates and keep private keys private.
2. Install SFTPPlus MFT on a supported platform. Configure the receiving service or outgoing transfer using the AS2 client configuration or HTTP/AS2 server configuration and the partner's agreed settings.
3. Send a valid sample business document. Confirm that the partner receives the expected file, and check the MDN disposition, signature, and message integrity result in the audit log.
4. Test a failed delivery and retry, then verify that duplicate handling meets your partner's requirements. For asynchronous receipts, also test the callback URL and a missing receipt.
5. Request a quote with the tested workflow, production installations, support needs, and planned start date.

What does AS2 handle for your business application? ​

AS2 provides the transport, message protection, and receipts for files such as purchase orders and invoices. Your EDI or ERP system remains responsible for interpreting, validating, or mapping the business content. An MDN confirming AS2 processing does not establish that an invoice has been approved or an order accepted by the business system.
